Zac Efron has 'recovered' after filming a survival event in Papua New Guinea
"Very grateful to all who have reached," he told his followers. "I was sick in Papua New Guinea but quickly returned and did an extra 3 weeks on PNG"
The 32-year-old star, who is famous for playing Troy Bolton in "High School Musical", also took the opportunity to thank fans for the message of support, adding that they are now at home with their loved ones in the Pacific.
Efron added: "I'm going home on vacation with friends and family. Thank you for all your love and attention, see you in 2020!"
A photo of him with local people in Papua New Guinea is attached to the message.

"Killing Zac Efron" is referred to as a series of trips that see a remote and star-studded "dangerous island forest" for 21 days without basic equipment or local guidance.
Efron said the series that Quibi ordered - a new streaming platform in April - would challenge him.
"I tend to succeed in extreme conditions and look for opportunities that will challenge me at every level," Efron told Variety in November. "I love exploring uncharted areas and discovering what's ahead for an unexpected adventure!"
